Scranton, PA : Hawley man dies following Wayne County crash on Wednesday, January 4, 2017

A 97-year-old Hawley man died in a Scranton operating room Wednesday, hours after being injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Wayne County.

Guillermo Lagos was injured around 10 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle he was driving crashed on State Route 191 in Texas Twp.

He was originally transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale before being transferred to Scranton’s Geisinger Community Medical Center for advanced trauma care, Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland said. Mr. Lagos died at GCMC at approximately 2 p.m.

State police at Honesdale are investigating.
