NEW LONDON, CT : 2 injured in crash on Minnesota Highway 23 near New London on Tuesday, 21st May 2019
Two people were transported to St. Cloud Hospital with life-threatening injuries after crashing on Minnesota Highway 23 near New London at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Minnesota State Patrol.
Hutchinson resident James Eugene Bloom Jr., 36, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Highway 23 when he crossed into the westbound lane near 115th Street Northeast.
St. Joseph resident Ronald Leon Stewart, 73, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala in the westbound lane.
Stewart swerved to avoid the crash but the two vehicles collided in the westbound lane; the Impala struck a guard rail and the Silverado came to rest in the north ditch.
Bloom and Stewart were both transported to St. Cloud Hospital with injuries considered to be life-threatening.
