Denver, CO : A fatal car crash on Saturday, July 1, 2017

A fatal car crash that happened just before 9:30 p.m. has resulted in the closure of Interstate 70 west of Palisade.

There is no estimate for when the eastbound lanes of I-70 will reopen, as investigators with the Colorado State Patrol have closed the roadway at mile marker 38 until their examination of the crash scene is complete.

Few details are available but at least two cars were involved in a head-on collision and one fatality has been confirmed by the State Patrol.
