Pensacola,FL : Pace motorcyclist in critical condition after North Davis Highway crash on January, Wednesday 24th 2018

A 35-year-old Pace man was critically injured Wednesday evening after his motorcycle skidded and spun out in northeast Pensacola.

Damian Lee McGowan was riding a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on North Davis Road near Copter Road shortly after 6:30 p.m. when his rear tire skidded for about 50 feet, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

As the motorcycle was skidding, it spun out and then slid on its side for another 75 feet before coming to rest on its right side.

McGown came to rest beside the motorcycle, near the dotted middle line at Karland Road.

He was not wearing a helmet, according to the FHP release.
