PORT ANGELES, WA : Port Angeles man dies following motorcycle wreck on Sunday, 13th May 2018
A 71-year-old Port Angeles man died Sunday following a motorcycle wreck on Elwha River Road, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Claude Dotson was riding his 2016 Kawasaki 650cc motorcycle west on the road west of Port Angeles at 12:53 p.m. when he came up behind a car turning left onto Crown Z Water Road, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Dotson tried to avoid running into the rear of the car and apparently lost control, sliding past the car with the motorcycle coming to rest on top of him.
The car’s occupants moved the motorcycle and called 9-1-1.
Dotson was conscious at the time, and Clallam County Fire District No. 2 and Olympic Ambulance responded and transported Dotson to Olympic Medical Center.
While in transit, Dotson became unresponsive and CPR was performed, but he was declared deceased on arrival at Olympic Medical Center.
The extent of any injuries is not known at this time, the Sheriff’s Office said.
There were no injuries to the car’s occupants and the car was not damaged.
The incident is under investigation by sheriff’s Detective Josh Ley.
More information will be posted here as it becomes available.
