Reservoir Road, SD : Motorcyclist dies in two-vehicle crash in Highway 44 on Friday January 1 2016.

A motorcycle driver was killed this afternoon in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Reservoir Road and S.D. Highway 44.
According to a press release from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, at about 2:54 p.m. today, the motorcycle was eastbound on Highway 44 when it collided with an SUV crossing Highway 44 from southbound Reservoir Road. The SUV had stopped at the stop sign on Reservoir Road before attempting to cross the highway.
The motorcycle driver, a 45-year-old man whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene. The release said the motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the SUV was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
