Phoenix, AZ : Two people critically injured in car crash in north Phoenix on Saturday night, March 7, 2015

Two people are in critical condition after they were hurt in a car accident in north Phoenix.

A spokesperson for Phoenix Fire Department says fire crews responded to a crash at 49th Avenue and Cactus Road at about 10pm. First responders had to use mechanical tools to extricate at least one of the victims from a badly damaged vehicle.

Two people were critically injured in the accident, and they were rushed to a nearby hospital. Fire crews say a third victim in the accident was treated on the scene. Phoenix Police are investigating how the crash happened.
