Collinsville, IL : 25-year-old Collinsville man dies in single-car accident early Thursday on September 11, 2014

Madison County Coroner Stephen P. Nonn has reported the identity of the victim of a single car crash that occurred during the early morning hours of Thursday in the 300 block of Combs Ave in Collinsville Eddie L. Williams Jr., 25, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Coroner’s Investigator Sakina Hall at 1:30 a.m. A preliminary investigation would indicate that he died as a result of blunt trauma to the chest, the coroner said. Williams was the driver and sole occupant of a 1994 Chrysler Concord that was travelling northbound on S. Combs when, for reasons unknown, lost control of the car, leaving the roadway and striking an electric pole. Routine toxicological testing for the presence of alcohol or drugs as required by Illinois statutory law will be performed. The crash is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Collinsville Police Department. Source : Collinsville man dead in single-car crash
