Durango,CO : Woman dies in rollover crash north of Durango on January, Wednesday 24th 2018
A woman involved in a single-car rollover Wednesday night on East Animas Road (County Road 250) has died, according to Colorado State Patrol.
State Patrol Capt. Adrian Driscoll said Thursday morning the woman died from her injuries. He did not release the name, saying next of kin had not yet been notified.
Driscoll also did not immediately have further information on the crash, which occurred near the 6000 block of County Road 250.
According to a previous report, the vehicle went off the road about 8:45 p.m. before landing upside down and partially submerged in an irrigation ditch, just south of Trimble Lane, north of Durango.
The Durango Police Department posted to its Facebook page Thursday morning that one of its officers “jumped in the freezing water to assist firefighters in extracting the female occupant.”
“After being pulled ashore, Cpl. Cygan performed CPR on the female until paramedics were able to take over and transport her to Mercy Regional Medical Center,” the post said.
No other occupants appear to have been inside the vehicle.
