An early-morning collision between a vehicle and a commercial truck, Tuesday, required firefighters to cut open the car to remove the single, injured occupant, the California City Fire Department reported.
Rescue crews responded to the collision on Twenty Mule Team Parkway and 135th Street shortly after 6 a.m., to find the sedan partially underneath the truck, with its driver pinned inside.A tow truck was called to remove the truck from he car, so firefighters could gain access to the injured driver. A medical evacuation helicopter was also sent to the scene.
The driver suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a local trauma center by Mercy Air, officials said.
