Fort Lauderdale,FL : Wrong-way driver killed in fiery 95 crash in Broward on March, Saturday 31th 2018

Hollywood man was killed in a crash early Saturday morning after driving the wrong way up Interstate 95 in central Broward County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just after 3 a.m., 911 callers reported a car heading north up the southbound side of the interstate, according to an FHP report.

Driving a Nissan Sentra on the wrong side was Gerard S. Ellis, 24. His vehicle collided with an Audi A-5 driven by an unidentified man from Duluth, Georgia, just north of Sunrise Boulevard.

Ellis’ car spun around, and its engine compartment burst into flames. He was killed. The other driver suffered critical injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
