Quincy,IL : QPS bus driver ticketed after Friday crash on December, Friday 15th 2017

A Quincy Public Schools bus driver was cited for disobeying a traffic signal Friday morning in connection with a crash at 30th and Maine.

The Quincy Police Department said a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Karen S. Ita, 61, of Quincy, was heading west on Maine at 8:24 a.m. when it struck a southbound 2017 IC school bus driven by Johanna K. Shaw, 60, of Quincy.

Police said Ita and three independent witnesses said she had the green light and the school bus ran a red light.

Shaw was released on a promise to comply.

No injuries were reported. Twelve students were on the bus, police said.
