Henderson, NV : Police officer hurt in motorcycle crash on Wednesday morning June 18th 2014

Henderson police say a motorcycle officer was hospitalized but is expected to recover from injuries he received when he was involved in a crash with a car.

Police spokesman Keith Paul says Officer Marcus Hudson was thrown to the ground when a Dodge Charger changed lanes and into the path of his police motorcycle about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday on Sunset Road near Athenian Drive.

The 25-year-old motorist, Victor Perri of Las Vegas, wasn't hurt in the crash and no charges were immediately filed.

Police say speed wasn't a factor in the crash and Perri didn't appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Perri voluntarily submitted to blood testing and allowed police to take a vehicle data recorder from his car.
