Aberdeen, NC : Four children injured after a school bus and tractor-trailer collided near Sandpit Road in Aberdeen on Friday morning, Nov 13, 2015

A school bus and tractor-trailer collided in Aberdeen Friday morning, officials with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 7:52 a.m. in the 1200 block of Roseland Road near Sandpit Road.

Highway Patrol said the bus had stopped to pick up a child when a tractor-trailer hit the bus from behind. Lt. Jeff Gordon said the bus had all of its lights and stop-arm activated at the time of the crash.

Gordon said there were four children on the bus at the time. Two of the children were transported by their parents to a local hospital for observation. The remaining two children continued to school.

Gordon said the truck driver and bus driver suffered minor injuries and the passenger of the truck was flown to a local hospital with a head injury.

Moore County Schools said the bus was heading to Pinecrest High School.

Highway Patrol said charges are expected against the truck driver.

Roseland Road is closed while authorities continue their investigation. The road is expected to reopen around noon.
