Thurmont,MD : Marine killed in crash near Camp Pendleton on February, Friday 2nd 2018

A 27-year-old Marine died in a crash near Interstate 5 and Camp Pendleton early Friday.

A passing motorist spotted a gray Mazda 3 down an embankment off Cristianitos, east of El Camino Real, about 12:30 a.m. California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Latulippe said.

The car apparently had been headed east, veered off the south side of the road and hit a utility pole and a tree.
