22-year-old hit-and-run driver tried to pick up an electronic cigarette moments before crashing into a 17-year-old bicyclist and killing him, authorities said Friday.

Frankie Alberto Arroyo of Orlando told investigators that he dropped the e-cig in his Dodge Dart while driving westbound on Trevarthon Road on Wednesday.

Rakib Chowdhury was riding his bicycle in the westbound lane toward his home on Alvin Street.

That's when the blue 2013 Dodge Dart slammed into him, knocking him off the bicycle.
