Yakima, WA : Two teenage injured in rollover crash near Ellensburg on Saturday September 3 2016
A 16-year-old boy driving on a suspended license and his teen companion were injured Saturday evening in a one-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 90 near Ellensburg, the Washington State Patrol reports.
The teen, who was not identified due to his age, was driving a 1977 Chevrolet pickup eastbound on I-90 about six miles west of Ellensburg at 6:20 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway to the left, rolled, struck a cable barrier and came to a rest on its top, according to a State Patrol press release.
The driver and his passenger, 18-year-old Isaiah J. Schultz, of Ellensburg, were injured and taken to Kittitas Valley Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Neither was wearing a seat belt and intoxicants were not a factor in the crash.
The 16-year-old was cited with driving with a suspended license and defective equipment, according to the release.
