Nine people were injured and eight hospitalized after at least two cars crashed near Hypoluxo Road and Venetian Drive in Boynton Beach on Saturday afternoon.

One child was taken via trauma alert to Delray Medical Center while seven people were taken to JFK Medical Center, Boynton Beach Police said.

Police closed westbound lanes of Hypoluxo Road west of Congress Avenue for about four hours.
