Willamina, OR : 47-year-old Portland man died after crash on Sunday night, Oct 11, 2015

A 47-year-old Portland man died Sunday night after he crashed his car near an exit to Willamina, Oregon State Police said.

Bradley Gene Jones took the Highway 18B exit from Highway 18 just south of town in his 1999 Chevy Suburban at a high rate of speed, police said. He drove off the road and then hit a utility pole and a large tree. His Suburban then rolled down a steep embankment near the Yamhill River.

Jones died at the scene. The crash happened around 10:30 p.m.

OSP said he was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
