Authorities say 58-year-old twin brothers have died after the pickup truck they were riding in hit a tree along an upstate New York road.
Ronald Myroniuk (mye-rah-NYUK’) was driving in his hometown of Cottekill around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when he crashed. Ulster County Sheriff’s Office deputies say he was found unconscious and trapped in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say his twin, Robert Myroniuk, also from Cottekill, died late Wednesday night after being airlifted to a hospital.
Deputies say neither man was wearing a seat belt. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Police say the brothers shared a home in Cottekill, located about 60 miles south of Albany in New York’s Hudson Valley region. Officials say the only relative they’ve been able to locate lives out of state.
