The Pima County Sheriff's Department says two bicyclists were killed after an impaired driver struck them in northwest Tucson.
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday as a group of about 10 cyclists waited at a red light. The driver of a pickup truck for a roofing company struck them, injuring four. One person died at the scene and another died at a local hospital. The third is in critical condition while the fourth sustained non-life threatening injuries. The rest were not injured.
Spokesman Ryan Inglett says the driver was impaired and has been arrested. He said could not give details about how the collision occurred and said investigators were still on scene.
