Two men were killed Friday night when the Lamborghini they were in left the roadway on Interstate 57 and rolled over, hitting trees, state police said.
Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead at the scene following the crash about 8:55 p.m. Friday, according to an Illinois State Police spokesman.
The two men killed were identified as Jacob Dochee, 45, of Frankfort, and Samieh Jawdac, 26, of Crete, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. They both died from injuries suffered in the crash, the office determined following autopsies Saturday.
Police said the car was going at high speed at the time of the crash, and the cause is still being investigated.
Dochee went by the nickname “Jacob da Builder.” Jawdec was his brother-in-law, according to WGN-TV.
Dochee was a prominent Chicago developer. Ald. Pat Dowell, 3rd, told WGN-TV he sparked a building boom in Bronzeville.
