WESTFIELD, MA : Westfield man charged with homicide in fatal crash on Wednesday, 9th November 2016

A Westfield man is facing a vehicular homicide charge in connection with a crash on U.S. Route 20 that left a 68-year-old man dead.

Twenty-five-year-old Ryan Pasquini was arraigned Wednesday in Westfield on charges that also include leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. The Republican reports that he denied the charges and was released on personal surety with conditions.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation found that Pasquini rear-ended a vehicle on Tuesday, attempted to leave the scene and then crashed into David Matyseck's car.

Matyseck, of Westfield, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are investigating.
