Gaston, SC : Deputy was involved in a crash on U.S. 321 on Thursday night August 14th 2014
A Lexington County sheriff's deputy was involved in a collision Thursday night in Gaston.
Lexington County Sheriff A. Lewis McCarty said a deputy, who had activated his blue lights and siren on his patrol vehicle, was responding to a call when the collision occurred near Highway 321 and Mack Street around 7 p.m.
A passenger in the second vehicle was taken to the hospital, McCarty said.
McCarty said the deputy involved in the crash was driven in a patrol car to the hospital as a precaution.
"The deputy and the woman do not appear to have suffered serious injuries," McCarty said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the events leading up to the crash.
