Sacramento, CA : Hazmat semi collision leaves two dead, closes freeway on Sunday, 19th January, 2020

carrying hazardous materials, left two dead and closed southbound traffic with hazmat teams deployed Sunday, authorities say.

The collision happened south of Hodge Road in the early hours of Sunday morning and resulted in a blaze that closed the freeway for several hours, San Bernardino County Fire Department posted on social media. Hazardous chemicals were released in the crash. Two people involved in the crash were killed and one was transported to Loma Linda immediately, the report said.

It was reported hazmat teams were able to clear the area and the freeway was reopened sometime before 8 a.m.
