Fremont County, CO : 79-year-old man died in head-on crash, just west of Canon City on Saturday, February 13, 2016

Colorado State Patrol says a 79-year-old man died when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and hit another car head-on.

The crash happened shortly after 7:00 p.m. Saturday, just west of Canon City and closed both lanes of Highway 50 for hours.

There were two adults and two children in the other car. One adult was flown to the hospital via helicopter in serious condition; the other adult was taken via ambulance with minor injuries. Neither of the children were seriously injured.
