The Boulder County Coroner's office has identified the two people killed in a collision Friday on U.S. 287 between Lafayette and Longmont.
The coroner identified the two as Sean Slote, 50, of Longmont, and Robert Lundy, 73, of Louisville.
Colorado State Trooper Alisha Danko said that Slote was driving his 2000 white Chevrolet Express northbound on U.S. 287 when for as-of-yet unknown reasons, he crossed into southbound traffic and struck Lundy's 2017 black Subaru Forester.
Lundy had been driving southbound at the time, and his vehicle rolled over and came to a rest on its roof.
Both men died at the scene, Danko said.
The crash occurred near Jasper Road. Colorado State Patrol shut down U.S. 287 in both directions for several hours as they investigated.
The crash remains under investigation.
