Aberdeen, WA : Two injured, one seriously, in single vehicle wreck near South Bend on Friday, February 10, 2017
An 18-year old South Bend woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the truck she was riding in left the road on Highway 101 south of South Bend and struck a stump Friday evening.
A 1998 Ford Ranger pickup driven by a 22-year old Raymond man was traveling northbound on 101 about eight miles south of Sound Bend when the truck’s tires went off the roadway. The truck left the road and struck a tree stump, according to a report released early Saturday morning by Brandi Hopkins with the Washington State Patrol.
The driver was transported to Willapa Hospital for undisclosed injuries. The woman’s injuries are not known. Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing seatbelts. The State Patrol report said drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the accident and the driver could be facing vehicular assault charges.
