A 10-year-old girl is in critical condition following a two-car collision on Long Island.

The accident occurred Tuesday night on Woodbury Road in Woodbury.

Police say a Mercedes Benz traveling northbound collided with a Nissan driving southbound.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospitals in stable condition.

Police say the 10-year-old daughter of the Nissan driver suffered a head injury. She was transported to a hospital where she's in critical condition.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
