Rapid city , SD : 62- Years old man was Killed after Three Vehicle wreck when his vehicle was crossing the boundary line and struck the driver's side door on Friday Evening , December 19th 2014

David Lavern Bennett, 62, of Rapid City died in a three-vehicle wreck originally reported Friday evening, according to a release from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

Bennett was driving a 2004 Chevy Tahoe south on Sheridan Lake Road when his vehicle crossed the boundary line and struck the driver's side door of a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover driven by Kim Moyle, 55, of Rapid City.

Moyle's vehicle skidded and then rolled, while Bennett's vehicle continued in the northbound lane, where he collided head-on with a 2011 Cadillac Escalade driven by Michael Johnson, 51, of Rapid City, according to the release.

Moyle and her passenger, Gilbert Moyle, 56, of Rapid City suffered minor injuries. Johnson and the three passengers in his vehicle: Debra Johnson, 49, Kayla Johnson, 18, and a juvenile child suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Everyone was wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred, the release stated.

No charges have been issued at this time and the South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the accident
