WELTON, IA : 1 killed in Clinton County crash on Friday, 17th November 2023

One woman is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Clinton County on Friday night.

On Nov. 17 shortly before 5:30 p.m., deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office were called to the 1600 block of Highway 61, north of Welton, after receiving reports of a crash.

Law enforcement officials said that one vehicle was driving southbound and hit a deer, stopping the vehicle. The driver exited their car as a result of the accident. While the vehicle was stopped, another southbound vehicle struck it, killing the driver who was involved in the deer accident.
