Emporia, KS : Lyon County Sheriff investigating rollover accident on Monday, September 4, 2017

An Emporia man was treated for non-life threatening injuries Monday in a rollover accident in the 1200 block of Road 345/US Highway 56.

When Lyon County deputies arrived on the scene around 12:52 p.m., they found a black, two-door Volkswagen passenger car in a field upside down, on its roof.

After an investigation, deputies discovered Dalton Brammell, 18, was traveling westbound, left the roadway and lost control. The vehicle drove off into the north ditch, through a fence and rolled several times, until it came to a stop on its roof.

Lyon County district 2 first responders and Emporia/Lyon County EMS treated Brammell at the scene. He refused any further treatment and was released from the scene.

The accident is being further investigated by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
