Rayne, LA : 20-year-old Joseph LeBlanc killed and one person injured in head-on collision at LA Highway 98 and Standard Mill Road in Rayne early Wednesday morning, March 30, 2016

A Rayne man died early Wednesday morning in a head-on collision.

Louisiana State Police responded to the crash on LA Highway 98 on Standard Mill Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. Investigators determined that Joseph LeBlanc, 20, was traveling east on LA 98 when he, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed into the center line and collided head-on with a truck traveling west. LeBlanc's vehicle went off the roadway and burst into flames, LSP says.

LeBlanc was pronounced dead at the scene. LSP was unable to determine if he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the truck was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
