WEST HAVEN, CT : West Haven Metro-North station open after car crashes onto tracks on Thursday, 10th November 2016

Trains are running normally through West Haven hours after a car hit several parked cars then crashed onto the train tracks early Thursday.

The driver of the car suffered a medical emergency before the crash and was taken to the hospital. But nobody else was hurt in the accident, police said Thursday morning on their Facebook page.

West Haven firefighters along with West Haven and Metro-North police all rushed to the station on Railroad Avenue at about 1:20 a.m. for the accident.

The train tracks were shut down while the driver was rescued from the car but service was running normally through the city by 8 a.m.
