GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH : 2 Perrysville residents killed in Ohio 511 crash on Sunday, 21st July 2019
The State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed two Perrysville residents on State Route 511 early Sunday morning.
About 2:12 a.m., a 2015 Ford Focus was southbound on State Route 511, just south of County Road 2256, when it went off the road to the right, struck a guardrail and overturned into a ravine, according to a news release from the Highway Patrol.
Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
Lacy Kay Sprang, 37, from Perrysville, and Matthew A Evans, 37, also from Perrysville, were pronounced dead at the scene as a result of their injuries by the Ashland County Coroner’s Office.
State Route 511 was close for approximately 4 hours while the scene was being processed.
Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Perrysville Fire and EMS, Hayesville Fire and EMS, Ashland County Coroner’s Office and Ohio Edison.
According to the Highway Patrol, neither occupant of the vehicle was believed to have been wearing a safety belt, and alcohol and speed are believed to be a factors in the crash.
