ORANGE COUNTY, FL : 2 men found dead in Pine Castle school parking lot on Wednesday, 31st August, 2016
Two men were found shot to death in a car parked at a Pine Castle school early Wednesday, and investigators are seeking information in the case.cording to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, an on-duty Belle Isle Police Department patrol officer came across a suspicious car in the parking lot at Cornerstone Charter Academy at about 4:40 a.m.
Upon inspection, he found two Hispanic men with multiple gunshot wounds inside the BMW. The officer called for medical assistance, but both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff's investigators determined that the shooting happened across the street on the southwest corner of Oak Ridge Road and Hansel Avenue. They said the shooting victims were able to jump into the car and drive across the street to the school parking lot, where they were found.
"We know that the victims were in the vehicle, but we do not know where the suspects were, whether they were in a vehicle, whether they were on foot. That is all going to be something that comes out of the investigation," said Rose Silva with the Sheriff's Office.
The victims' identities are being withheld until next of kin are notified. Investigators said they're looking at surveillance footage and knocking on doors to piece together what happened.
At the school, students were not being turned away while the investigation was going on, but they were kept in a safe location while officers were on scene.
One parent said she got an email alert from the school, but it didn't have many details.
"I just wish that they had given a little more info prior to me dropping my kids off. I would've kept them at home today," Tina Schuppner said.
