Gainesville, FL : I-75 SB lanes closed due to semi crash in Gainesville at mile marker 386 on Thursday, 30th August 2018

Southbound lanes on Interstate 75 are closed in Gainesville at mile marker 386 between the Newberry Road and Archer Road exits after a semi hauling building materials crashed into an overpass.

Alacua County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Art Forgey said as of about 8:45 a.m., building materials remained scattered across the roadway and the semi had not yet been towed off the interstate.

The Sheriff’s Office says to seek an alternative route and to expect major delays through Gainesville. Traffic diverted from the interstate was causing slowdowns on Gainesville streets.
