YAZOO COUNTY, MS : An elderly man was killed on May, Friday, 19th 2017

Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said an elderly man was killed Friday after he was crushed by a farm tractor.

Shivers said Eden and District 3 Volunteer Fire Departments, Pafford Ambulance and the Yazoo County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to 9500 block of Eden Midway road in Yazoo County to a report of a man trapped under a tractor

After first responders arrived on the scene, 79-year-old Charles B. Winstead, of Yazoo City was pronounced dead.

Coroner Shivers said Winstead suffering from severe head and chest injuries. He was crushed by a Massey Ferguson Tractor.

Shivers said it appears Winstead had stepped off of the tractor under the shed and appeared to be checking electrical problems. A volt meter was also found.

It is presumed that the tractor had been left in gear.

Winstead was taken to Stricklin-King Funeral Home where arrangements are incomplete.

The incident has been investigated by the Yazoo County Sheriff's Department and Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers
