Manatee County, FL : North Port man killed in US 41 wreck early Sunday morning, April 3, 2016

A 23-year-old North Port man died early Sunday morning when he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and struck another vehicle.

The wreck happened shortly after 2 a.m. on U.S. 41. Clinton Davis was approaching Hernando Avenue in the southbound lane on his 1993 Harley-Davidson when he lost control, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The motorcycle rolled onto its side and entered the northbound lane, where it and Davis collided with a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer driven by a Bradenton woman. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
