Morristown,TN : Woman injured after crashing into Hawkins school bus on March, Thursday 22nd 2018

A 76-year-old Rogersville woman airlifted to Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport Thursday morning after her compact SUV collided with a stationary Hawkins County school bus on this morning remained hospitalized in regular room Thursday afternoon, authorities say.

Catherine Groff’s northbound 2018 Subaru Outback struck a school bus that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Highway 11-W and Park Boulevard, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The 21 students on the bus and the bus driver, 26-year-old Brandon Linkous were not injured, according to a preliminary crash report, which states Groff will be charged with following improperly in the 8:24 a.m. crash.

After the right-front portion of the Subaru collided with the left-rear portion of the school bus, the Subaru spun clockwise, coming to rest facing eastward in the center turn lane, according to the crash report.
