GOLDENDALE, WA : Gig Harbor man injured in motorcycle crash near Goldendale on Wednesday, 7th September 2016

A 70-year-old Gig Harbor man was flown to a Yakima hospital after his motorcycle crashed north of Goldendale Wednesday.

Richard E. Fuqua was riding a 2008 Honda VTX130 north on U.S. Highway 97 around 2:35 p.m. when the motorcycle left the road about 17 miles north of Goldendale, according to news release issued by the Washington State Patrol.

The bike flipped and Fuqua was thrown, according to the news release. He was flown by helicopter to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center, where a nursing supervisor said he was still in the emergency room Wednesday evening.

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the crash, but have ruled out intoxicants, the release said.
