Ocala, FL : Baby seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Thursday, 26th April 2018
The baby seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck earlier this week remains hospitalized.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said 2-month-old Gabriel Elias was listed in critical condition at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville on Friday.
The child’s mother, Gretchen Medina, 22, was in fair condition at Ocala Regional Medical Center on Friday, according to a spokeswoman.
FHP officials said Medina, the child’s father, Kenny K. Elias, and the infant were traveling in a Toyota Corolla along State Road 200 when it was T-boned by a sport utility vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign at Southwest 80th Street.
Authorities said the child was buckled in a car seat and the SUV struck the side where the infant was sitting. Kenny Elias wasn’t seriously injured in the crash, officials said.
The SUV driver, Jonathan Gordillo, suffered non-life threatening injuries, troopers said.
