CHEROKEE, NC : Blue Ridge Parkway reopens after truck crash near Smokies on Wednesday, 18th July 2018

Officials say the Blue Ridge Parkway has reopened after an accident involving a delivery truck carrying 800-pound batteries.

A parkway spokeswoman told news outlets the truck left the road Tuesday and went down an embankment near milepost 466, closing the road from Milepost 455 to its southern terminus at Milepost 469. The parkway said on Twitter that the section of road reopened on Wednesday.
