Cordova, TN : Speeding driver smashes into utility pole, 2 other vehicles on Monday, December 12, 2016
A 19-year-old was hospitalized after a severe crash at the intersection of Germantown Parkway and Dexter Road in Cordova.
According to witnesses, the man sped off Germantown Parkway and hit three trees before flipping the vehicle in the parking lot of the Extended Stay America hotel.
According to police, Brenden Musgrave was driving a SAAB 9-7 when he lost control and left the roadway approximately 60 feet South of the Extended Stay America hotel. Musgrave's vehicle crashed head on through a MLGW wooden utility pole.
After smashing into the pole, the vehicle turned on its side and slid north into the hotel's parking lot. Musgrave's vehicle hit two other vehicles in the parking lot. Multiple trees were knocked down and the retaining wall at the hotel was damaged, causing debris to be scattered.
Emergency responders had to cut the vehicle apart to free Musgrave.
He was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
Musgrave was given a ticket for reckless driving and no insurance. He is due in court January 5, 2017.
