Kersey, CO : 1 dead, 4 injured in crash east of Kersey on Saturday, 2nd March 2019

One person is dead and four others were taken to North Colorado Medical Center after a crash on U.S. 34 east of Kersey on Saturday night.

Platte Valley Fire Protection District spokeswoman Stephanie Cooke said it's safe to say the driving conditions, impacted by a winter storm Saturday night, contributed to the head-on crash along U.S. 34 between Weld County Roads 69 and 386.

A westbound vehicle slid or swerved into the eastbound lanes about 8 p.m. Saturday, killing the westbound driver and sending the four occupants of the eastbound vehicle to the hospital.
