Riverton, WY : Woman died after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Wyoming Highway 789 on Wednesday night, March 9, 2016

Authorities say a woman has died after being struck by a vehicle while walking along Wyoming Highway 789.

The Daily Ranger reports that the victim, who has not been identified, died at the scene of the Wednesday night crash.

Authorities say the woman had been walking in the northbound lane of the highway when she was struck by a 2006 Chevy Silverado heading in the same direction.

The driver was not injured.

A Lander man who almost drove through the crash site was arrested for driving under the influence and drug possession.
