Niagara Falls, NY : 7 injured in Grand Island Bridge pileup involving up to 50 vehicles on Thursday, November 27, 2014

Authorities say multiple cars were caught in a chain-reaction crash on a snowy New York roadway that closed it for several hours. The Buffalo News reports (http://bit.ly/1z1z6aW ) cars started hitting each other around 6 p.m. Thursday on the northbound Niagara Thruway at the North Grand Island Bridge. Onlooker Rani Salemi told the paper that three or four cars initially skidded on the snow-covered roadway, and that following cars weren't able to stop in time and careened into the ones preceding them. It was unclear how many total cars were involved in the pileup, or the extent of injuries.
