Holland, TX : Temple man killed, 2 injured during DPS pursuit on State Highway 95 near Holland on Saturday, April 9, 2016
A 24-year-old Temple man pursued by a state trooper died after the Toyota Tundra he was driving left the road and struck a tree.
The incident occurred about 1 a.m. Saturday on State Highway 95 near Holland.
Both of the two passengers were injured, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson said. A 30-year-old woman was flown to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. A 22-year-old Temple man was taken to Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
A trooper tried to make a traffic stop on the Tundra on southbound Highway 95 near Little River-Academy, Wilson said.
The driver sped toward Holland before losing control. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers were investigating, and the victim’s next-of-kin had not been notified, Wilson said.
