ST. MATHIAS TOWNSHIP, MN : ATV and minivan crash, killing Brainerd man on the 11000 block of County Highway 45 in St. Mathias Township on Tuesday, 11th September 2018

An 87-year-old Brainerd man is dead following a crash between a minivan and an all-terrain vehicle Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash at 2:33 p.m. on the 11000 block of County Highway 45 in St. Mathias Township. According to a sheriff's sergeant, the driver of the side-by-side ATV apparently attempted to cross the road and was struck by a southbound minivan, driven by a 54-year-old St. Cloud man.The ATV driver was transported by air ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he died from his injuries late Tuesday night. The driver of the minivan suffered no apparent injury in the crash.
