Gainesville, TX : Officials ID man killed in crash on Tuesday, November, 21st 2017
A 56-year-old man from Marietta, Oklahoma, was identified as the driver killed in a crash on southbound Interstate 35 in Gainesville earlier this week.
Staff Sgt. Mark Tackett said Dale Harvey crashed a red Ford F-350 Super Duty King Ranch truck into a semi-trailer hauling meat products at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday near the 499 Mile Marker after he failed to control his speed.
Tackett, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said a series of minor crashes that afternoon had slowed traffic in the area to about 30 mph.
Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene by Cooke County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Olivia Neu.
The driver of the semitruck was not injured.
